USSSA stands for United States Specialty Sports Association. The organization has come a long way from the days when it was founded in 1968 as the United States Slow Pitch Softball Association.
USSSA now headquartered in Kissimmee, Florida is the nation’s largest multi-sport amateur athletic association and national governing body. Not only is it the national organization of choice for slow pitch softball enthusiasts of all abilities and skill levels, it also sanctions the following sports: baseball, basketball, fast pitch softball, flag football, golf, soccer, tae-kwon-do, karate, lacrosse and volleyball. USSSA currently registers over 185,000 teams, sanctions over 34,000 events and has more than 2.5 million members nationwide.
